What’s This Blog About?: A window to the WORLD

Updated: May 2, 2023

Internet is full of blogs of various kinds. Then why another in the same line? This simple question can be answered in as

many ways as there are types of blogs and bloggers on the web. One more thing. This should have been the first thing done while launching a website and I didn't do it because I did not know. The whole project was an enthusiastic outcome not to prove others anything at all but to myself that I can do it with a little trial and error on the user-friendly medium of communicating with the world. Hence, better late than not. And here I am - doing, learning, correcting and doing it again to make myself worthy of this endeavor. I am basically a teacher with instincts almost inherited from the family line. At least my own father was a teacher in a school while time and opportunities allowed me an upgrade to begin the same profession in a college. Most Indians are bilingual from the very beginning because the education system is designed like that. And this bilingualism allows one to pursue divers fields in the area of language and literature studies. This write up on bilingualism is a preamble to what I wrote in the last blog on how I began my journey with the craft of translation. Once you are equipped with at least two languages, the thought of translating something is not only an external activity but also an inevitable and constant companion of your internal psyche. As you find a momentum, this long established inner urge begins to take shape and you find an entirely new, creative and proliferating world of giving shape to something that awaited your efforts to get translated and thus also get transformed. An all new thing coming out of your fingers is nothing less than a living creature which is your very own in relation to existence and fruitfulness. Your love and affection towards it is as genuine as anything you would have experienced in terms of having done something on your own, in a novel manner.

Thanks for sparing your valuable time. I will bring you more on translation and creative writings in the coming days assuming that it will be worth reading at least once. Till then, good bye and happy reading.
